Ranch to Rockies Loop 

Itinerary: 

Welcome Dinner

The evening before departure, your group gathers for a private welcome dinner in downtown Calgary. It's a good opportunity to meet your tour leads and fellow riders before the route begins. We use the time to complete final check-ins and paperwork so the morning starts smoothly.

Day 1: Calgary to Pincher Creek 

360km 

We transfer from your hotel to our partner shop first thing in the morning to make any final fit adjustments to your bike. From there, we by pass the city hustle and enter the Cowboy Trail, a historic ranching route with the Rocky Mountains on your right and rolling farmland on your left.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site focused on the history of the Indigenous peoples of this land, the buffalo harvest, and the unique geography of the area.

The day ends at a working ranch where dinner is catered and served family style. A fire is lit outside, the sauna and hot tub are ready, and a motorcycle film is playing in the movie room. Your private room and bathroom are prepared for the night.

Day 2: Pincher Creek to Hot Springs

Breakfast is served before we pack our gear and head out for a full day of riding. The route crosses rivers, lakes, and mountain passes through historic mining towns on smooth, well-paved roads.

Mid-morning, we stop at the visitor center for a unique photo opportunity before heading deep into the Kootenies, after crossing many bodies of water, lunch is a catered picnic on the edge of a lake.

The afternoon follows a secondary highway along the water before a short ferry crossing. The final hour of riding hugs the water's edge to the Hotspring resort. Check into your private hotel room, and enjoy the naturally heated pools and indigenous inspired meal on site.  

Day 3: Hot Springs to the Okanagan 

420 km

Today delivers a dramatic shift in scenery alongside the most technical riding of the trip. We take plenty of breaks throughout to stay sharp as we navigate steep elevation changes, winding roads, and lake views. Mid-morning, we stop to explore a well-preserved ghost town before continuing north.

Lunch is a catered picnic near a ferry crossing as we descend into the Okanagan Valley, finishing the day through vine-lined farmland and winery country.

Tonight you stay in wine country, within walking distance of a variety of dinner options, enjoy a late sunset from the outdoor pool.

Day 4: Okanagan to Jasper 

440km 

Today covers the most ground of the trip, you ride north through the Okanagan, into the Monashee Mountains, through the dry terrain around Kamloops, and into the mountain country leading to Jasper. The geography shifts dramatically throughout the day — open forests, desert badlands, and rocky alpine terrain. Snow-capped peaks appear and disappear through the treeline as the landscape changes around every bend and valley. 

We stop for photos and roadside snacks along the way. In Jasper, you stay in a private hotel suite with full amenities. The outdoor hot tub, restaurants, and patios are yours for a final evening on tour.

Day 5: Jasper to Calgary

440km

The final morning takes you down the Icefields Parkway, a world famous route known for its rock faces and turquoise glacial lakes. We stop in Banff and ride the gondola for a farewell meal with 360 views on the top of sulfur mountain. 

From Banff, one last hour of riding brings you into Calgary. Bikes are dropped at the shop and we arrange your transfer to your accommodation or the airport.

A 25% deposit is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance is due 20 days before departure.

If you cancel more than 20 days before your departure date, your deposit is non-refundable and the remaining balance will be returned in full.

If you cancel within 20 days of your departure date, no refund will be issued.

Transfers: Your booking may be transferred to a future Gravel & Gas departure if the request is made at least 10 days before your original departure date. The deposit is non-refundable; the remaining balance will be held as a credit valid for 12 months from the original departure date. Transfers are subject to availability and must be requested in writing to hello@gravelandgas.com.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before your trip to protect against unexpected cancellations, medical emergencies, and trip interruptions.
